Pep Talk Generator is a simple motivational app. We take your privacy seriously, and the short version is this: we do not require an account, and we do not collect, store, or share personal information that identifies you. The only data that leaves your device is anonymous crash diagnostics and anonymous, aggregated usage analytics — both described below — which help us fix bugs and understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

Optional daily notification reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content is sent to or stored on any server.
To help us find and fix crashes, the app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes, Crashlytics sends Google a diagnostic report so we can reproduce and resolve the problem. These reports contain technical information such as the type of crash, a stack trace, the device model, operating-system version, and app version, along with a randomly generated installation identifier. They do not contain your name, email, the pep talks you generate or save, or the contents of your local data.
Crashlytics is provided by Google; its handling of this data is governed by Google's Firebase privacy terms.
To understand how the app is used — so we can decide what to improve — the app uses Google Firebase Analytics. It records anonymous, aggregated events about actions in the app, such as opening the app, generating a pep talk, sharing one, saving a favorite, or enabling the daily notification.
These events are tied to a randomly generated, resettable app-instance identifier, not to you. They do not contain your name, email, or the text of the pep talks you generate, save, or share. If you install the app after tapping a shared link, we also record the anonymous source of that link (for example, that it came from a share) so we can tell how people discover the app — this is not linked to any personal identity.
Analytics is provided by Google; its handling of this data is governed by Google's Firebase privacy terms. Crash reporting and usage analytics are the only features in the app that send any information off your device. We do not sell your data, and the app contains no advertising.

The app is not directed at children under 13. Since we do not collect any data, there is no data collected from children either.
If we ever update this policy, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. Given the nature of the app, significant changes are unlikely.
